Punk started in the 1974 as an irksome, guerilla uprising against mainstream music charted by the number or sales. Rock ensambles alike Green Day, the Offspring, and Rancid boosted punk music back in 1990. This time the mesh of speedy, simple rock music with sweet-sounding pop melodies took hold on the MTV. 1. blink-182 - Enema of the State

In blink-182's never-ending struggle to insult any adults in the vicinity, this tape showed a model clothed as an enema au pair girl on the booklet. The punk pop inside is teenage and catchy including the massive hit single “Mutt.”

2. The Donnas - Spend the Night

Girls can perform punk, too, and this album is a profuse evidence of that. The group modeled themselves after the first punk rock group Ramones with every member taking the name Donna. Download Pressure to listen to it.

3. Good Charlotte - Young and the Hopeless

A band from Maryland Good Charlotte blasted into the top 10 of the popular music album chart with this set. It's full with history of university and problem parents. The smashing hit track is “Lifestyles Of the Rich and Famous.”

4. Green Day - Jesus of Suburbia

After fading from their nineties peak of popularity, Green Day faded to the studio to put together punk rock's first opera. Though the American band was nervous about their fanclub's attitude to Letterbomb, it turned out to be an American rock classic topping the album chart and gaining an award for Best Punk Album of 2004.

5. The Lemonheads - It's a Shame About Ray
